remodeling hijinks

When I got home on Saturday, the kitchen was covered in tarps and dust, and there were only the shells of cabinets. As of tonight, the cabinets have doors, the countertops have been put on, the tarps have been removed, but our refrigerator and stove are still in the dining room and there's not even a hole where a sink should be. There's no electricity or gas in the kitchen, and the only source of water in the house is in the tiny "master" bath.

The contractor promised that we'd be cooking on Thanksgiving. I hope he's right... there are 12 people coming, and I don't think any of them are expecting turkey cooked in a microwave. Things will work out.
